Ryan O’Hara is an award-winning sportswriter based in Denver, Colorado. The 31-year-old has been selected to four consecutive Boxing Writers Association of America award ceremonies (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023), and has won five awards overall, including a best finish of 2nd in 2021. 

O’Hara was a former news anchor, having worked for a local Fox News Radio station in Prescott, Arizona, leading both the morning and evening newscasts from 2016-2018. 

O’Hara is an accomplished athlete, having played hockey since 1999 and graduated early from college twice, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Global Security & Intelligence Studies in three years, and his Master’s degree in Human Security in just one year, all from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. 

O’Hara has also covered the Stanley Cup Finals and covers the Colorado Avalanche for SBNation. Furthermore, he provided ringside coverage of Canelo-Munguia on May 4 for Yahoo Sports. 

O’Hara also appears as himself on the boxing video game Undisputed, which was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC on October 11. to be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC on October 11. In 2020, O’Hara was one of a select number of reporters to be offered a contract to be in the first boxing game to be released since 2011.

O’Hara also appeared in the 2025 Celebrity Shinny NHL game sponsored by the Colorado Avalanche, where he scored a goal en route to an 8-5 victory.
