Pedro

Pedro Meyer was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His family was small but very loving. His dad
taught him how to be relaxed and passionate about life. His mom taught him discipline, respect and
good character. He has a twin brother who taught him the importance of sharing. His grandmother
taught him how to love and to forgive. The unusual combination of different personalities within his
small family circle introduced Pedro to an environment of diversity from an early age. Pedro then
developed a personality of compassion with firmness, charity with responsibility, strength with love and
reason with sentiment. This same variety also made Pedro always have a hard time on finding his true
path in life. That changed when, at the age of 14, he got his first guitar. It was a Christmas gift that came
through the door, carried by his mother on a beat up hard shell case; someone’s grandfather’s old
guitar, she said. Opening it, the guitar looked just like the ones Pedro’s dad have always played. The
nylon strings are characteristic of Brazilian samba and bossa nova, with a cedar top for a comforting
warm tone. From that moment on, Pedro found something he could truly dedicate himself to. He has
not stopped playing ever since. Taking inspiration from his mother’s taste in music, his first favorite band
was U2. MTV introduced him to rock and roll with Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers. As he grew
older, the array of influences grew wider going from Guns’n’Roses to Albert King and Earth Wind and
Fire, culminating into a true passion for songwriting in the style of John Mayer, Chris Stapleton and
Bruce Springsteen. His music passion, however, started to plateau. Blues and Rock are not the most
appreciated styles in his home country. In search for a new passion, in 2018, Pedro started doing Kung
Fu classes. His hobby became deep love for five years, acquiring many competition medals and
becoming a student of the art. Through martial arts, his character improved from a person who can now
endure more, and with the strength, he learned responsibility. With knowledge, he learned the
importance of sharing it.

Five years later, at age 22, Pedro took a trip that would change his life forever. He came to the United
States on a temporary work program and fell in love with the city of Denver. After going back to Brazil, a
year passed before Pedro moved back to Colorado, now for good. Since moving to the U.S., Pedro
finished his Political Science degree at MSU Denver, having to adapt to speaking a second language
every day of his life. He also found a new home at Easton Training Center. There he now became the
Striking Department Head of the academy, being one of their advanced Muay Thai instructors. He also
reignited his passion for music after working for 5 years at Guitar Center. Currently, he also has a full
time position at Glory Kickboxing working backstage to make the show happen. Pedro has been in
Denver for the past 6 years and now expects to expand his music aspirations by recording his first solo
EP and possibily score an oportunity to write music full time.
