  1. Lifestyle model for The Wild and Co: @TheWildandCO , Wild and Co

My name is Brooke I grew up in Atwood, Kansas, a small town. There were many benefits of being from a small town, the benefits included friendly faces and lots of opportunities to grow in school. All of the teachers encouraged student to at least try everything. This is one of the main reasons I got involved in so many activities that I might otherwise have not done if I didn’t have the opportunity to attend a smaller school and live in a smaller town. Throughout high school I was involved in FFA, show choir, volleyball, basketball and track. I was consistently on the A honor role for exceptional grades. These grades were accomplished through hard work and dedication to ensure that I succeed at what I put my mind to. I also was involved in the plays performed throughout all four years of high school as well as two years at the first college I attended. I went on to play volleyball at my first community college in Concordia Kansas for two years. There I learned firsthand how to communicate with my team. I was the teammate that was overly excited to score points. The team counted on me for my energy. I eventually graduated from Cloud County Community College with an Associates in Science. I am now studying wildlife biology at Colorado State University. Here I am focused on my school and maintaining a 3.5 GPA to continue to represent my college and the person I have been striving to be. I enjoy sports, spending time with friends and working with animals.

My main goal is not only to continue working with animals in the future but also to continue modeling and filming for my YouTube channel. I enjoy interacting with people and getting to know new people. I particularly have a sweet spot in my heart for animals. For reasons listed below I have changed my lifestyle from omnivore to herbivore. This is to protect the animals from inhumane treatment and for sustainability for future generations of people and animals. As for my career with animals, I would enjoy working in a zoo, particularly Denver or Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. The two animals I would like to work with more than any others are either polar bears or giraffes. I was able to do an internship while studying in Concordia, Kansas at the Rolling Hills Zoo for a summer. There I learned to solve problems, build extenuating projects and best of all work with the animals. I enjoyed most of all the thought of making a difference for the animals I worked with and the people that gave me the opportunity for the internship.

Throughout high school not only did I participate in clubs and the honor role, but I spent a lot of my time volunteering. Through my church we would host potlucks and clean up the sides of the road. Within the school system I was able to go to the elementary and read to the children and take them out for recess.

When I was young everyone else wanted to be princesses, firefighters, police officers etc. My dream was to become a professional model. At a young age of course, the reason was because of the admiration, the people looking up to me and of course the fame. After I grew up my dreams did not change. Instead they matured into a more reformed dream. I went from wanting to be a model for shallow reasons to wanting to do it for myself and to help others. When I think of female role models I think of a variety of women that overcame their fears and patriarchy. Especially the women trying to change the face of how models should look. I want to be an icon for those young girls struggling to fit in or dealing with body issues. I want to help people change their lives around for the better. This is the most important way for me to do this.

Similarly, around this time last year, I was going through a very rough time in my life. I had just found out I had bipolar disorder and my boyfriend had just broken up with. It didn’t occur to me until later on that he was verbally abusive and that he turned me into a shell of myself. I then met this person who helped me find my way back to who I really was. So, I told this close friend of mine that I was interested in modeling. We got closer and he started helping me pursue my dream. We first set up an Instagram page, brooke_paslay_modeling. He then did photo shoots with me to allow me to have practice. I used those photos for my page. This last summer I decided it was time to make a move. So, I started looking into modeling companies. John Casablanca contacted me for a try out. I went to the tryout. There I did a short photo shoot, briefly walked the runway and discussed why I was there. At the end of the night I was accepted to go to the next phase, an interview. Due to school I was not able to continue. A couple months later I started looking again. I found CatheXis, I loved their website and decided to apply. This is my first agency that I am proud to be a part of. Although I don’t have much experience in the industry I am excited to grow with this agency and continue to become a better model each and every day. Along the way I am excited to help people and give back to the community because it is important.

Modeling is my passion and helping others has always been important to me. Being able to do both at the same time will be life changing. I can’t wait to see how I grow as a person.
